News : Eye Of The Enemy Seeking to Raise Money & Awareness for Movember
Melbourne based melodic death metal quintet, Eye of the Enemy, are proudly dedicating themselves this November to help raise money and awareness for men’s health, in particular, testicular cancer, prostate cancer, and mental illness. They have vowed to do this by becoming “mo bro’s” for The Movember Foundation.
On 1 November the members of Eye of the Enemy will shave off their mos, with some members’ upper-lips not having seen sunlight in over a decade. The band will document their “mogress” (moustache progress) from nude-lipped to macho-moustache throughout the month of November and will be encouraging their fans to donate to the worthy cause. They band are also hoping to inspire other bands to sign up for Movember too.
In addition to participating in Movember, Eye of the Enemy have committed to donating 50% of the proceeds of all albums sold via their Bandcamp page (http://eyeoftheenemy.bandcamp.com/) or their Big Cartel store (http://eyeoftheenemy.bigcartel.com/) during November 2014.
Chris Kane, Eye of the Enemy’s guitarist, founding member and Movember team captain, comments on why the band has chosen to participate in Movember, “Everyone knows someone that’s suffered from some sort of men’s health problem, especially in the predominantly male metal scene. Doing Movember is a small sacrifice on our part that will hopefully raise money and awareness for The Movember Foundation and the important things that they do.”
Eye of the Enemy have a couple of exciting gigs scheduled for the end of November when the moustaches will be at their most glorious, so moustachioed awareness will certainly be raised for the Movember Foundation.
To help join in this great cause, and to donate towards helping sufferers of these conditions, you can donate to The Movember Foundation via Eye of the Enemy’s team at this link here.
Additionally, by purchasing any Eye of the Enemy album from the band’s Big Cartel page during November, 50% of the proceeds will be donated to The Movember Foundation.
To keep track of the progress of the well-moustachioed endowed, head on over to Eye of the Enemy’s official Facebook page.
