News : HEAVY Music Magazine Announces New Ownership
Melbourne based HEAVY Music Magazine, a long running independent quarterly print magazine devoted to promoting local and international heavy music across Australia and abroad has today changed ownership. The magazine is produced with the help of contributions from musicians, music journalists and professionals, and die-hard fans.
Each issue focuses heavily on high profile local and international artists, including many underground Australian bands. Various features, including “Chicks in Music”, and guides from industry professionals covering various topics have helped shape the magazine and help many independent bands reach a wider audience.
Liv Reppas, former owner of HEAVY Music Magazine shares her thoughts on the new change.
“HEAVY was born from my incredibly strong desire to support local Aussie heavy music, it got off the ground with the help of a phenomenally hardworking and incredibly talented team of individuals. It is with great pleasure that I pass on the leadership and ownership of HEAVY Music Magazine to Robyn Morrison, an exceptional woman who has the passion to see this publication grow into its next phase. Thank you to all the people who have supported the magazine and helped it grow over the last three years, especially the HEAVY team, that will be forever valued”. – Liv Reppas
SF Media will also continue to grow focusing on rock, metal, punk, hardcore and alternative music. Its focus continues to be breaking news across several music genres, combined with interviews, reviews and industry news from Australia and overseas.
Robyn Morrison, HEAVY Music Magazine’s new owner and SF Media overseer shares her thoughts.
“I’m incredibly excited to be taking on the ownership of HEAVY Music Magazine. Olivia Reppas of MLM Media has built an outstanding magazine and online presence and I will continue to ensure the publication grows. I have a dedicated commitment to both media outlets and it is a high priority on my agenda that both publications continue to deliver quality content.” – Robyn Morrison
Readers of the magazine can continue to follow the magazine via Facebook and Twitter. Issue 11 is currently available to purchase online via the official website (www.heavymag.com.au) and at selected outlets.
