News : The Gorguts Australian tour just got a lot heavier
Canadian tech death metallers Gorguts will be venturing our way this November with Australia’s leading purveyors of extremity, Portal. In addition, Disentomb, Departe and Consummation have been chosen to lead the charge and open at the following dates.
As mentioned previously, Australia’s leading purveyors of aural disturbance, Portal will be joining Gorguts for the entire tour. The supports for each city have now also been named and will be doing their utmost to set the scene for the evening ahead and challenge the endurance and mental stamina of those in attendance.
Making the journey north to Melbourne, Hobart’s Departe will offer up their dark and suffocating amalgamation of atmospheric sonics that span across black and death metal and incorporate elements of post, drone and doom with the goal of complete subservience and hypnotic control. Having played with Absu, The Amenta and Ruins, they are well versed in creating a total mind and body experience for all who witness their live offerings.
The Newtown Social Club will have it’s foundations tested early when Disentomb unleash their muscular brutal death metal on the room. The four piece have opened for heavyweights like Napalm Death, Origin, Cannibal Corpse and Dying Fetus and the global praise for their debut, Sunken Chambers Of Nephilim mean that this is one seriously serious opening act, and definitely not one to be taken lightly.
Brisbane’s Consummation will spew forth their vehement, spiteful black metal to a home town crowd at the Crowbar. So dark, so sinister is their audial art that it is only available on cassette for true believers only. Prepare to be subjected to those who have separated themselves from the light and join them as you descend into the spiraling abyss.
