News : Ne Obliviscaris Unveil New Album And Release Date
Ne Obliviscaris, the progressive, extreme metallers from Melbourne, are pleased to announce their second full-length album. Entitled ‘Citadel’ this will be the band’s first album with Season of Mist since signing with the prolific French/US label in February 2013. ‘Citadel’ is set for release on November 7th this year.
Produced by Troy McCosker and violinist/clean vocalist Tim Charles at Pony Music in Melbourne, Australia, it was further mixed and mastered by Swedish production wizard Jens Bogren (Opeth, Katatonia, Devin Townsend). The gorgeous cover art was provided by lead vocalist Xen.
Citadel sees the band expand even further on a sound already renowned for being eclectic and unique amongst the worldwide metal scene.
Two years have passed since the release of Ne Obliviscaris’ debut album, ‘Portal of I’, and since then the band have grown into one of Australia’s biggest exports. After recent successful tours alongside Devin Townsend, Enslaved, Cradle of Filth, and more, the band are currently in the midst of crowd funding a massive world tour via Pozible, a target which they reached and surpassed in just 38 hours upon its initial press release.
Having managed to raise a remarkable $40,000 in this short period of time (in turn, breaking the Australian record of $60,736 for music related crowd funding in only 10 days), Ne Obliviscaris now currently sit on $74,689 raised (at time of printing) with 11 days left remaining. Their world tour is set to include Europe, UK, North America, India, Japan, China, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, South East Asia, and Australia.
Ne Oblivicaris issued the following statement concerning ‘Citadel’:
“Citadel is everything we ever envisioned this band could one day become. And we can’t wait to share it with you all very soon!”
A tracklist is expected to be released soon, followed by an extract from the new album. Stay tuned as details develop!
