News : Brian Giffin Needs Your Help – Pozible Campaign
A new Pozible campaign has been launched to celebrate rock and metal culture in Australia. Brian Giffin is fronting the project. Alongside being the editor of The Australian Metal Guide, a site that’s been active since 1997, Giffin has also had his writings appear in a number of publications such as ‘Loudmouth’, ‘In Your Face’, etc. He further works as a radio broadcaster and is the managing editor and co-owner of ‘Loud Online‘; among his other credits.
Giffin is asking for help with his latest venture. What this means for you will be release of the ‘Encyclopedia of Australian Heavy Metal’, an ambitious project designed to “chronicle the history of heavy music in Australia since the heady psychedelic early days of Buffalo and bruising boogie of AC/DC and Rose Tattoo to the technical death metal of Psycroptic and muscular metalcore of Parkway Drive.” It will “capture it all”, Giffin commented.
All funds put towards the Pozible campaign will go towards to the publication of this volume. It’ll cover costs of the hardcover format, cover art, promotional and publication costs, as well as the production of a limited-edition CD.
A number of rewards are up for grabs if you pledge. This includes at least one copy of the book with every pledge among such other nifty items as Blood Duster‘s self-titled album, a copy of Nick Calpakdjian’s ‘Metal Down Under’ DVD, and so forth.
With 60 days remaining, it has already covered almost two-eighths of its intended target. For further information, check out The Australian Metal Guide’s Facebook page. To pledge, head on over to the link here.
