News : Brisbane’s Vyrion release new album “Go” (free download)
It was the artwork that initially caught out attention for this one, and thankfully the new album from Brisbane’s Vyrion turns out to be something quite awesome. Having supported the likes of Enslaved, Marduk, Psycroptic, Ruins and The Amenta, you can pretty much gather what they play; it’s that more progressive end of black metal, and it’s done really, really well.
“A grand concept album with monumental themes, Geo was innovatively developed, written, recorded and released over the course of eighteen months. One at a time, each song was given directly to fans, via Soundcloud, the moment it left the studio. The album’s release marks the close of an exceptionally sophisticated recording process with levels of iteration and fan interaction uncommon amongst the Black Metal community.
Building upon the critically acclaimed sound of their debut, Vyrion has made Geo faster, wider and louder; more furious, brooding and agressive. Geo is both scathing and all-encompassing, at once it achieves and defies its Black Metal heritage. With eyes upon the apex of the extraordinary, Vyrion have consolidated their distinct and powerful Black Metal vision.”
The whole thing is downloadable for name-your-price, as well as some very well packaged physical copies, over at Bandcamp.
The guys launch the album on July 4th at Crowbar in Brisbane alongside Defamer, Demodocus and 308, with Sydney & Dubbo shows on July 25th & 26th respectively. Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart shows are being announced soon.
