News : King Parrot Welcomes New Drummer To The Band
With the sad departure of drummer Matt “Skitz” Sanders from Melbourne grindlords King Parrot, who is said to have “decided to move on from the band after a gruelling 2 month tour of the US and Asia, and consistent touring in Australia since 2013 [which had begun] to take its toll”. The news followed Sanders recent appearance with King Parrot only just a few days ago for what would be his last ever show with the band. This took place at the Carcass gig at 170 Russell during the final Melbourne leg of the tour.
In his stead, King Parrot have welcomed Todd Hansen (The Bezerker, Rome) – pictured second from right in the above photo – as their replacement.
King Parrot made this statement on their official Facebook page.
With international touring scheduled for the remainder of the year, the band have been quick to snap up the services of Todd Hansen, best known for his work with ‘The Bezerker’ and more recently ‘Rome’. With a committed and dedicated attitude to drumming and touring, Todd is a welcome addition to the King Parrot camp. The band is showing no signs of slowing down and a new album is in the works scheduled for release in the first half of 2015. The band would like to thank ‘Skitz’ for his time in the band and wish him all the best for his future endeavors.”
And further made this comment later on:
