News : Blood Duster release Angels cover for charity

By on June 5, 2014

Most of you would have heard the tragic news yesterday that Australian rock icon Doc Neeson, lead vocalist of The Angels, lost his battle with cancer at age 67 (read our tribute to Doc here). Many bands and people in the music industry have paid their respects to Doc and his family/friends, and that includes grind legends Blood Duster. Bassist Jason PC comments:

“I fucking loved The Angels. They were an unwitting early inspiration for the now classic Blood Duster “CUNT” shirt.
As I had one of their a classy black singlets as a young kid with “No Way Get Fucked Fuck Off” on the back.

Of course the swear words were censored by I loved that simply by wearing it I could drive my mum crazy.

I wore it while sporting a rats tail in Wangaratta… Good times.”

As a tribute to the rock icon, Blood Duster have released a cover of The Angels’ classic (Australia’s unofficial national anthem), ‘Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again’. The song was taken from their 2012… “release” titled ‘KVLT’, and was the only track that they actually kept from the destroyed album.

“We had this black metal / Death Rock cover version of the Angels track “Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again” on the KVLT album. This track was kept with the intention of using at as B-side at some point in the future but it seems right to just release it here for everyone in memory of Doc Neeson.

If you like the track please take the time to donate a couple bucks. This will in turn be donated to a great charity, Camp Quality, or take it for free and donate to something you like. Just do something good. Donation updates will be posted to Facebook periodically if you wanna see if any money was raised and where it went.
If you do share the track on social media please mention the donation part first and foremost in your post.

R.I.P. Doc Neeson.”

Listen to the track below. You can download it for free, or pay what you wish, with all money going towards the Camp Quality charity. But if for some reason you don’t like Blood Duster’s take on the song and don’t want to put your money towards it, you can directly donate to Camp Quality here.
