News : The New Dead V – Metalfest Returns To Adelaide This May
After the great success of last years The New Dead metalfest, the day-long event sponsored by Truth Inc Records has returned to Adelaide’s shores for their fifth outing at the tail-end of this month. Taking place at Fowler’s Live in North Terrace, Adelaide on May 31st, The New Dead V promises to trump last years event with a whole host of amazing bands on the day, ranging from King Parrot, to LORD, to Truth Corroded, and Harlott, with a great many more bands on the bill from across the different states.
Thanks to the great folks at ARMI, the Australian Rock & Metal Institute, together with Global Music Revolution, some awesome prizes are also currently up for grabs when you enter in the competition here. Prizes will be awarded to the lucky winners on the day.
The biggest all day Australian Metal event in Adelaide ‘THE NEW DEAD #5’ at Fowlers live on Saturday May 31st is only days away, this licensed All Ages event brings you some of Adelaide’s upcoming metal talent alongside some of the country’s biggest and best metal acts and just like last years amazing event which saw the biggest crowd to date The New Dead #5 is going to be HUGE!!!
This year we welcome 17 bands for you to thrash your heads and throw the horns for, and leading the interstate invasion are Melbourne’s schizophrenic grind thrashers KING PARROT – who are currently dominating the Aussie metal scene and have recently just destroyed the USA. Add to that Adelaide’s favourite Sydney Metallers LORD who make a return to the New Dead stage and we are pleased to welcome back to Adelaide for the first time since 2007 VANISHING POINT (Vic) who have just released their new album ‘Distant is the Sun’. Perth’s CLAIM THE THRONE will invade the stage with their Viking like drinking metallic antics, Canberras Progressive Death metallers AEON OF HORUS will definitely bring the Heavy!!!. The extreme force of KYZER SOZE will prove why they are one of the hottest properties in the Queensland scene. W.A Symphonic blackened death metal act ADVENT SORROW venture into SA territory for the first time as do Victorian thrashers HARLOTT whose amazing album ‘Origin’ topped the list of many “best of’s “ for 2013 and rounding off the Interstate list are heavy hitting groovers BRONSON (Vic) and the ever so crushing HADAL MAW (Vic).
As for the Adelaide contingent TRUTH CORRODED will return to THE NEW DEAD stage after a huge Asian tour on the back of their new album ‘THE SAVIOURS SLAIN’ which was released worldwide wide through AFM Records. SEBONKIRA are at the peak of their career with their debut album ‘In The Wake of Change’ and always deliver the goods in the live setting and both bands also had the chance to represent the Australian metal scene at Australia’s biggest outdoor music event SOUNDWAVE 2014. Showcasing the new talent in Adelaide is always a priority for THE NEW DEAD and this year we give you Prog metalers ‘DYSSIDIA’, the straight up aggression of HEADBORE and VOROS, the face melting GORLAPSE & crushing new comers AMODERNDEATH.
Tickets are being sold now via Moshtix for $25 (plus booking fee), and will also be sold on the day for $30 on the door.
Doors open 12 pm till late, so if you’re in the area or will be, come on down and come help support some great Aussie metal with a fantastic new line-up for this years The New Dead metalfest!
