News : Hell On The Bay II: Judgment Bay – Line up announcement #3 + additional news
Another Sunday, another band announced by us for Hell On The Bay II: Judgment Bay! With the return of Demolition already announced, Metal Obsession have been announcing the other four bands playing this extreme metal boat cruise. Two weeks ago it was Melbourne power metal masters Bane of Winterstorm, and last week it was extreme metallers Hybrid Nightmares.
“Hybrid Nightmares are an Extreme Metal Band from Melbourne, Australia. Formed in 2008 this quintet has earned a reputation as one of Melbourne’s best live acts through a chaotic, relentless and above all, entertaining live show. Don’t let their extreme image and face paint fool you, the Nightmare sound is a true amalgamation of the many diverse styles of metal known to this world.” – Brimstone Bookings
Not only is there a new band to be announced, but some special interests from Brimstone Bookings for both bands and punters.
As a bonus for the punters, thanks to the staff at HEAVY Music Magazine, everyone on board will receive a FREE copy of the latest HEAVY Mag (which I assume will be Issue #12 at that time)
If you’re in a band, Brimstone Bookings are putting together a compilation CD exclusively featuring local Aussie bands to be handed out at Hell On The Bay and other future Brimstone events. Bands interested in being a part of this CD should email bookings@brimstonebookings to organise their spot.
Now’s the time that we announce the first of two interstate bands playing the show. Travelling up from Tasmania to play the show will be black metal heavyweights Ruins! Although remaining quiet since their shows on The Amenta‘s farewell tour in January (with the Haley brothers working on the new Psycroptic album), Ruins are ready to bring the grim aboard.
“Hailing from Tasmania, this year’s interstate guests are none other than the indomitable Ruins. Prepare for a lesson in ruthlessness from the grim masters of Tassie!” – Brimstone Bookings
“In the terms of the Ruins back catalogue, overall ‘Place of no Pity’ stands tall. Although in some respects it does also show a band with an abundance of talent in a period of transition in terms of their sound. Bar a few minor low points it is certainly an album for the band to be proud of though, and it will be exciting to see where the band heads next from here.” – Metal Obsession (read album review here)
Next week we will be announcing the headliner of the show. Until then, RSVP to the official Hell on the Bay Facebook event. Feel free to comment below with your guesses on who it might be, and come back next Sunday to find out who it is!
