News : Hell On The Bay II: Judgment Bay – Line up announcement #2
Last Sunday, we revealed that we’re exclusively releasing the line up for Hell On The Bay II: Judgment Day, a heavy metal boat cruise on the Victoria Star Cruise Ship in Docklands. With the return of Melbourne thrashers Demolition already announced for quite some time now, Metal Obsession announced Melbourne power metal group Bane of Winterstorm as the next band on the bill.
“Bane of Winterstorm are one of Melbourne’s and indeed Australia’s biggest and most exciting power metal acts. They seemingly came from obscurity and exploded back into the local metal scene with the release of an absolute world class album, ‘The Last Sons of Perylin’, and an equally powerful live show to match it. I am very happy to have them play HOTB this year.” – Brimstone Bookings
Just one night after being unsuccessful in a pavlova eating contest with members of Gloryhammer and Lagerstein, we are proud to announce that Melbourne extreme metallers Hybrid Nightmares are joining the festival. Hybrid Nightmares played the festival in 2013 alongside Psycroptic, Ne Obliviscaris and Orpheus Omega, and will make a fine addition to this year’s line up.
“Following such a great response at last years event, Hybrid Nightmares return to HOTB 2014 and will be upping the ante with their new stage show. HN have been hard at work in the studio and are set to release a massive project beginning mid 2014. They don’t want to give too much away yet, but know that is set to emit more energy, and impose more catastrophic force than the big bang. These guys are set to take the scene by storm and are a welcomed addition to HOTB.” – Brimstone Bookings
“Don’t let their extreme image and face paint fool you, the Nightmare sound is a true amalgamation of the many diverse styles of metal that members Loki, Jonny, Ben, Batty & Gummas draw influence from. Black, death, groove, folk and classic heavy metal are all blended into the sonic maelstrom that is Hybrid Nightmares, a sound that defies any categorization other than ‘extreme’“
“Hybrid Nightmares is a force to be reckoned with. Not since Immortal have I been captivated by the imagery and haunting sounds of black metal.” – Anwar Rizk, Metal Obsession
So there is all of the Melbourne locals announced for the line up so far; Demolition, Bane of Winterstorm and Hybrid Nightmares. Who do you think will be announced next? Check back here next Sunday at 12:00pm to find out.
