News : Bane of Winterstorm announce new line-up
Melbourne epic power metallers Bane of Winterstorm recently launched their debut album, ‘The Last Sons of Perylin’ at the Evelyn Hotel in Melbourne alongside a special guest line-up, including; Riley Strong (Desecrator), Mark Kennedy (Damnations Day) and Silvio Massaro (Vanishing Point) . The album launch marked the final show with vocalist, Riccardo Mecchi. It was also meant to be the final show with founding member and bassist, Tristan Peterson. However, Tristan was unable to attend the event.
Bane of Winterstorm released a press release via their Facebook page regarding the departure of Tristan and the introduction of the band’s newest members; Andrew Hudson on bass and Mark Kennedy on vocals.
Today we officially announce the departure of founding member, bassist and long time friend Tristan Peterson. As some may have noticed, Tristan was not present at our album launch and we parted ways in early February. Tristan was the only other founding member of this band, and was a huge influence on the formation of Bane of Winterstorm as we know it now. Without him ‘The Last Sons of Perylin’ would not exist in any form. So for his five years of service we thank him for all that he has done and offered to us in the shadows of this beast.
That being said, with his departure comes new blood. We have been hard at work writing album number two and adding to the Bane of Winterstorm sound. And thus we have formed a new ‘Live’ line up. Bane of Winterstorm will continue to play shows (Some of which will be announced shortly) and thus welcome our new line up;
MARK KENNEDY | VOCALS
Mark has been a long time friend of Bane of Winterstorm since we first formed in 2009 when we first played with Damnation’s Day. The second I heard his voice was the day I decided that I would include a heavy guest section on our albums. For years when writing our music I had Marks voice in the back of my mind, and it came to fruition when he played a considerable role on ‘The Last Sons of Perylin’ and subsequently our album launch. Now he steps into the role as our lead singer for the year.ANDREW HUDSON | BASS
Andrew came to us from a suggestion from Chris Themelco, that we needed a bass player for our album launch, and there was only one man who would be able to play on stage with us with three weeks notice. Andrew not only stepped up to the plate, but completely crushed it. As the guitarist and vocalist in one of Melbournes finest thrash bands, Andrew brings crushing aggression to Bane of Winterstorms live performances in 2014.
