News : In Malice’s Wake reveal new line-up
Late last year, In Malice’s Wake, Melbourne’s pioneer thrash metal band announced that two of their long time members, guitarist Dave Graham and bassist Luke Blaso were leaving the band. Although the split was a surprise to the local metal community, the band said that it was “a mutual decision that has been a long time coming”.
After a long recruitment process the band have revealed the long-awaited new additions to their line-up. Introducing Leigh Bartley on lead guitar and Karl Watterson on bass.
Leigh is a true student of the metal guitar discipline – combining breathtaking speed, accuracy and soul in his art. Finely balancing haunting melodies with wild shredding and a range of exotic scales, Leigh’s playing has a unique voice that truly complements the ferocity of In Malice’s Wake.
Karl is a dominating monster of a man who we instantly recognised as the beast crushing people at previous In Malice’s Wake shows. Karl is a master of the bass guitar, exhibiting incredible feel, pace and amazing skill with both pick and finger techniques.
Both previously of Albury’s ‘Heathen Ritual’, Leigh and Karl are dedicated masters of their respective instruments. They have worked tirelessly to perfect the existing In Malice’s Wake material and the band sounds truly incredible in the rehearsal room.
With the addition of Leigh and Karl’s destructive backing vocals and vicious stage presence, In Malice’s Wake harbour an unsurpassed hunger to return to the stage. We will launch this new line-up at our return show on Friday the 14th March. Put this in your diaries – it will not be a show to be missed. Full details to come shortly.
Special thanks to our former band members Luke and Dave for their assistance over this period, Jake Lowe for photography, and thank you all for your genuine and continued support.
