News : Australian metal at Soundwave 2014
Soundwave Festival head honcho, AJ Maddah has informed his followers on Twitter that Australian metal is definitely on the cards for the Soundwave Festival next year.
Ne Obliviscaris are the latest local metal talent to be mentioned to AJ via his Twitter feed to support the Soundwave Festival.
AJ is keen to get them on board, if there is room left over. Ne Obliviscaris recently supported The Devin Townsend Project in Melbourne in early October, and have recently been chosen to support Between The Buried and Me and The Contortionist on their upcoming Australian tour starting this week. Check for dates in our gig guide.
Perth based death metallers Make Them Suffer are also on the cards for the Soundwave Festival, providing things work out. Make Them Suffer are gearing up for a massive national tour this Nov/Dec. Check for dates in our gig guide.
In late September, AJ informed his followers that Melbourne thrash quintet King Parrot would be apart of the Soundwave Festival next year. As of yet, King Parrot have not officially been added to the line-up yet, but we expect to see them on the third and final line-up announcement. King Parrot will be touring nationally this December with Gay Paris. Check our gig guide for more details.
Thy Art Is Murder are the first official Australian metal band to be added to the 2014 Soundwave Festival line-up. The band will be heading to America shortly to promote their current album, ‘Hate’.
The second Soundwave Festival line-up was announced last Thursday with Mastodon, Him, Dir En Grey, Satyricon, Eagles of Death Metal and Gojia, among others, joining the Soundwave Festival next year. Click here to get the full list of bands attending.
