News : Sonic Forge Festival 2013; Ne Obliviscaris, Ulcerate (NZ), Hypno5e (FR), The Amenta and more
Taking over all three stages at St Kilda’s Esplanade Hotel, Sonic Forge Festival has quite easily become one of the biggest locally-focused metal festivals in the country. What makes it truly exciting though is that this year is, quite frankly, their best lineup yet.
One of the highlights is no doubt New Zealand’s Ulcerate who continually prove to be one of the most suffocating death metal bands on the planet, and their new single “Confronting Entropy” is no exception. The other international act is France’s Hypno5e, who are a must-experience for those into the whole progressive side of metal. Locally we have Ne Obliviscaris headlining the event, The Amenta continuing the live onslaught on the back of their killer new album Flesh Is Heir, live favourites King Parrot and a ton of others. There’s more to be announced too.
Tickets went on sale this morning from Oztix.com.au, Polyester Records, Greville Records, Fist2Face, and the venue itself, for $25+bf. And, as with past years, all proceeds to The Center Of Hope in Haiti.
We’ll no doubt see you at the show.
