News : Pure Evil Trio’s new EP “Cognitive Dissonance” out now
Pure aggression is the name of the game when it comes to Sydney/Wollongong based three piece Pure Evil Trio. Not that you’d really expect anything less from the name. Despite having recorded them back in 2007 at the now defunct MGTVL warehouse, tracks “Machinations”, “Pattern Recognition” and “The Hand That Holds You Down” are only now seeing a release, under the suitable name of Cognitive Dissonance.
“Embrace the contradic- tion of optimistic nihilism. Or is it positive negativity? Robert Anton Wilson meets Zappa in the pit at a Born Against show, precipitating the birth of a new Messiah. Or something. Few bands can generate such a sense of chaos and intimidation via such carefully structured noise vomit. A true punk band, their sound is genuinely unique whilst not being afraid to show it’s influences.”
You can grab the EP digitally over on Bandcamp, or as an 8″ record through Bigcartel. This one is definitely worth a listen.
