News : Dave Haley returns to The Amenta, Timothy Pope taking break from touring
The Amenta are in full force at the moment. With a ridiculously killer album out and heavy touring on the cards (including Jakarta’s Hammersonic Festival with Cradle of Filth, Cannibal Corpse and Obituary), things have gotten even more exciting with Dave Haley returning to the drummers seat.
The man, who we’ll assume you know from Psycroptic and Ruins, performed on their first two albums Occassus and n0n.
“The Amenta sincerely thanks recently departed drummer Robin Stone for his time and dedication to The Amenta for the past 6 years. His outstanding performance on 2013’s Flesh is Heir is cited by many critics as being one of the main highlights of the album. He is without question one of Australia’s most talented drummers as anyone who has seen him live with The Amenta will attest. We wish Robin and his wife Jacqui all the best with their soon to be born second child. Australian audiences will see Robin back blasting behind the drum kit with his band Norse very soon no doubt.”
In other news, samples and FX genius Timothy Pope will be absent from their live performances for a while, due to a new addition to his family on the way. Although, excitedly, he has apparently “already started working on a concept and lyrics for the bands next release”.
Perth folk can catch the band with the new line-up at the Amplifier Bar this Friday, April 26th.
