News : Toby Wrecker of Hotel Wrecking City Traders releases solo album

If the two splits that Melbourne’s Hotel Wrecking City Traders released in 2012 (one with Spider Goat Canyon, the other with WaterWays and Sons of Alpha Centauri) weren’t enough hotel wrecking and city trading to keep you satisfied, there is now a solution; Toby Wrecker has released a solo album.

The 9-track release has a bit of everything, from heavy stoner rock through to ambient soundscapes. It simply sounds like Wrecker throwing together a whole bunch of ideas that he had lying around, which is what makes it such an interesting listen. And as it turns out, that’s pretty much what it is…

“This Release is a collection of home recordings recorded at various points throughout 2011/12. It’s far from polished and is a what you hear is what you get kind of release. I had a great time putting these songs together and thought I should really do something with them rather than let them sit there collecting dust until like so many others are misplaced never to be heard again.”
