News : Electrik Dynamite – New video, singer and tour announcement

By on July 27, 2012

It has been a couple of months now since the shocking announcement of longtime vocalist Ryan ‘Maverick’ Reeve departing from Melbourne party-metal band Electrik Dynamite. Since the announcement in April, and Maverick’s last show in June, the band have remained fairly quiet. But in the space of 5 days, Electrik Dynamite have made two massive announcements and released a music video.

The first announcement made this week was a massive Australian tour supporting Sydney’s melodic metal heavyweights LORD, in support of their upcoming album ‘Digital Lies. The tour is currently 22 dates over a two month period (Note: Electrik Dynamite will not play the 4 New Zealand shows as well as the Darwin show), and according to LORD, there are more dates to be announced for the tour.

The music video Electrik Dynamite released was for ‘Love is Fire’, a song off their debut album ‘Hair.Denim.Sex.Metal’. The video was filmed at Maverick’s farewell show, live at the House of Rock (last HoR at Palace Theatre) in mid-June.

Last but not least, the band have been questioning their fans for the past week; ‘What do you do when you lose your tall frontman with a mullet?’. Leading up to their answer for that question, they edited their new promo picture and put Kenny Powers’ (Eastbound & Down) face over their new singer. But tonight, the band answered the question on their Facebook page…

“So, the answer to our question of “What do you do when you lose your tall frontman with a mullet?” is simply “Get someone taller with a BIGGER mullet!!”. Introducing you all to our new frontman, the man with a voice as sexy as his haircut… DAN BRITTAIN.

Expect a little video from the man himself on Sunday night, which announces our first show with him. But in the mean time… what Top Gun name can we call him?!!?”
