News : The Veil to tour overseas, looking for new bassist

In what is an exciting piece of news for Sydney doom band The Veil, they have announced their first ever international date. In late September, the band will play alongside Procession, Weed Priest, Ataraxie and a heap of others at the Dublin Doom Days festival. More dates will be announced sometime soon.

On a more local note, they will be performing at Lycanthia‘s album launch on August 4th at The Wall in Sydney. Doors open at 7:30pm, with Okera and Myraeth rounding out the lineup.

And if you happen to play bass, this (rather fantastic) band are looking for a new member after the departure of Megan Hanlon earlier this year. Here’s the ad:

Bassist wanted for The Veil. 
– Australian and international live dates booked.
– Writing for second album in progress with pre-production demos to commence soon.
– Must have quality equipment, own transport, intention/availability to tour.
– Vocal and/or multi-instrumental abilities a plus.
– Rehearsal in Sydney’s inner west.
– Some influences and/or reference points: Swans, My Dying Bride, The Cure, Enslaved, Neurosis, Joy Division, Fields Of The Nephilim, Type O Negative, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Killing Joke, Amesoeurs/Alcest, etc.
