By on June 12, 2012

Press release:

We are very pleased to announce July 27th 2012 as the official release date for Sydney mosh-metal act Shinto Katana’s new full length album, Redemption on Skull And Bones Records/Shock Entertainment. Pre-order packages and national release tour announcement coming very soon.

Shinto Katana have also officially welcomed Jamie Scerri of Pledge This into the band on 2nd guitar.

Having formed midway through the last decade, Shinto Katana have spent their time honing their craft, doing the hard yards and winning over audience’s one show at a time. From humble beginnings in the west Sydney metalcore scene to being the one of the most promising Australian heavy bands in recent years, Shinto Katana have toured nationally with esteemed acts such as Emmure, Shai Hulud, The Red Shore and Deez Nuts, also sharing stages with the likes of August Burns Red, Darkest Hour and Bleeding Through.

Previously releasing two full length albums, 2008’s much loved Cold Streets and 2010’s more metallic sophomore release We Can’t Be Saved, the band returned to the studio and recorded what they describe as combining the best elements of all their previous material. Recently releasing the new album’s debut single, Solitary, to great response; this album is shaping up to be one of 2012’s best heavy music releases.

You can get the debut single “Solitary” featuring Frankie Palmeri of Emmure on iTUNES here.
