News : Electrik Dynamite announce departure of singer (Post updated with audition information)

Just the other day, Metal Obsession filmed an interview with Electrik Dynamite’s bassist Duane “Ice” Jackson. So as the video is currently being edited (and will be online over the next couple of days), we certainly didn’t expect this announcement.
In what seems like a shock to their fans, Electrik Dynamite’s vocalist and long-time member Ryan “Maverick” Reeve has announced his departure from the band. The following is a status posted on the bands Facebook page which announced the singers departure.

Tonight is a sad night for Electrik Dynamite. It comes with deep regret that we unfortunately announce the departure of long time friend, original member and the man up front – Ryan “Maverick” Reeve. Don’t fret though friends, this is NOT the end of ED with plans already in the works. Ryan has some words for y’all down below… (more on this coming up in the next few days)

“So the time has come, and it is with sadness that I announce my departure from Electrik Dynamite. 6 years ago we started this band, and in that time we have accomplished more than I could have ever dreamed of, and with those accomplishments means other parts of my life have not, and I feel that it is time that I give the other things in my life the time they deserve.
And although it s sad to think that I am leaving, it gives me great happiness thinking of the times we had, and all the amazing support from our fans, friends and family means that this band has had success and will continue to succeed.
So thanks, from the bottom of my heart to members, current and past, and to all those that came to a show and made my dreams a reality, time to go and chase some new ones!!”

We WILL be announcing one last show for Ryan soon… Keep your eyes peeled and thanks so much for the kind words. You guys keep us doing what we love to do so much.

UPDATE: Electrik Dynamite later posted a status regarding audiotioning for a new singer. If you’re interested in singing for a band, read the criteria below.

We will be holding auditions to fill the vocal position now available in Electrik Dynamite. As a prequel to the live auditions, anyone that’s interested we’d love to see what you’ve got;
* Male vocalists only, between 20-30 years old
* Ability to practise before tours etc. We’re not limiting this to Melbourne people only.
* Styling does not have to be similar to what we’ve done in the past. If you’ve got a great rock voice, we wanna hear you! Understand though, musically, we will continue doing what we do.
* Clean singing only, there’ll be no screaming. Good range and dynamic, strong dictation.
