News : In Trenches throw another (awesome) new track online

By on February 23, 2012

Come March 5th, Melbourne’s In Trenches will release their intense sophomore release Sol Obscura into the wild through the fantastic MONOLITH Records.

“On their sophomore release the Melbourne conglomerate that is In Trenches returns a reworked, more advanced and specifically intensified beast. Without diverting from their overall dissonance and rhythmically complex approach, Sol Obscura sees the band having ventured deeper into heavy dirges and progressive compositions and returned with stunning results. Giant walls of guitar noise reach into the human psyche, with output flowing over 27 minutes across five unique tracks. Creations beyond any typical metal and hardcore structures flourish in gritty beauty, the five piece channeling rage through a moving and ultimately forward-thinking release that bites back at the frustrations of modern existence.”

To make the wait a bit more bearable, the band have uploaded opener “Beneath” to their Bandcamp page. It’s pretty damn good, you should go have a listen. Also on that page are a bunch of pre-order options that come with exclusive t-shirts and such.
