News : The Schoenberg Automaton lose their vocalist
In what can only be described as tragic news, Brisbane’s The Schoenberg Automaton have lost vocalist Colin Cadell. You can read his full blog over here as to the reasons behind it, but in short: unfortunate medical circumstances have forced him to take a step back from the metal scene.
This also means the new album has been pushed back for an unknown amount of time.
“…on behalf of TSA obviously we’d like to publicly acknowledge Col’s massive contribution and sacrifices for the band – he was/is a huge part of the sound and will obviously leave massive shoes to fill. It may even take two sets of shoes to fill those… shoes… who knows.
Doing what you love by playing music in a band can be a sometimes punishing existence behind the scenes, as this demonstrates all too well. But we thank Col for his passion and his energy, and all he has contributed. He really gave it everything he had, but sometimes life has other plans for us (woot cliche+10 EXP).
As mentioned, the Automaton will keep rolling on. Our album will be delayed and these next few shows will be our last for a while. Please come along if you can. We don’t know how long it will take to find a new vocalist.
We wish Col all the best and also thank you for your well wishes on this page and other parts of the interweb. It seems a lot of people understand what this band meant to him.
Now everybody wipe their vaginas and punch a baby or something. Come to Col’s farewell shows and get DRUNK.” – The Schoenberg Automaton
