News : Mother Eel take a break from the live scene to record “Total Fucking Svalbard”

By on December 6, 2011

Blue Mountains-based Mother Eel are taking a bit of a break from the live scene to record their new release, but rather than tell you ourselves, here it is straight from the band:

“After crushing and creating turmoil for the writhing mass in attendence of East West Deathfest III, Mother Eel is moving to Svalbard during the polar night to record their next EP titled ‘Total Fucking Svalbard’. Svalbard is located approximately halfway between Norway and the North Pole. There are no roads connecting settlements and they appreciate people trying to be invisible. While in the depths of the constant fog that Svalbard boasts, we will be adding glacial guitars, frosty vocals, icy ambiance and genuinely cold dissonant noise to the elements that have already been recorded years ago. Again, the release will be produced and engineered by Nathan and Brother Agony. It will be the first commercial recording featuring Jo and Matt.

We will not be playing any live shows during this time.”

Their previous release The Idiocy/Generosity Cycle got a 5/5 in Blunt Magazine, so y’know, head over to Grindhead Records and grab a copy. It’s intense.
