SONIC FORGE FESTIVAL 

A CHARITY EVENT FOR ‘THE CENTER OF HOPE’, HAITI

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 26

Sonic Forge Festival 2010 saw close to 1000 metal fans from across Australia watch more than 30 of the countries best metal bands perform across 3 stages, making it Australia’s biggest metal festival since Metal For The Brain finished in 2006. Sonic Forge returns in 2011 on November 26 with an even bigger line-up headed by Australian metal legends DREADNAUGHT and joined by a host of Australia’s best and biggest metal bands from across the country.

As well as being about the amazing bands and music, Sonic Forge Festival is also a charity event, with profits from this event to be donated once again to the ‘Center of Hope, Haiti’. On January 24, 2010 a massive earthquake hit Haiti that resulted in the deaths of more than 230,000 people, injuries to more than 300,000 & 1 million more left homeless. Despite the time passed the people of Haiti still need our help more than ever, and so we have decided to extend our relationship with the ‘Center of Hope’. Executive Director James Lipscombe recently commented on Sonic Forge’s support of their orphanage saying:

“The support from the Sonic Forge Festival 2010 enabled the purchase of school uniforms for 15 children and school supplies for our first class and the payment of a teacher’s salary for one year! The Sonic Forge Festival will forever be a part of the birth of our orphanage. To all who participated last year and to those that will participate this year, we say “Cheers!””

Sonic Forge Festival really made a difference to these children’s lives in 2010, and we look forward to seeing you all at Sonic Forge Festival 2011 for a great day of music and to support a great cause at the same time.
