News : Want to win a really awesome album?

As you may or may not know, next weekend will see the second instalment of the mighty Ausgrind, as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival. Alongside Odiusembowel, Nowyou’refuckeD, Meticiulous Despoilment, Lazerface, Iconic Vivisect and The Seaford Monster is the rather quirky A Million Dead Birds Laughing, and to celebrate the existence of such a superb lineup, we’re giving away five copies of their debut album Force Fed Enlightenment. 

To enter, it’s a case of “you scratch our back, we’ll scratch yours”. Simple give this event a friendly mention on your Facebook/Twitter/etc page, including a link to the official Facebook event, send a screenshot of it through to contact(at)metalobsession(dot)net, and we’ll choose five random winners. Entries close at 11pm Friday Sept 23rd.

“In 2011, AUSGRIND will be blasting its way back into the Melbourne Fringe Festival!  AUSGRIND 2011 will be mixing it up with some of the best Aussie grind, slam, experimental and death metal bands!

The Seaford Monster will kick the night off with some Seaford style slams! Making their debut only two months ago, The Seaford Monster have already created quite the buzz on the scene, and are worth getting there early for!

Following The Seaford Monster is a second dosage of slams for the night, courteous of Iconic Vivisect! One of Melbourne’s most brutal death/slam bands, Iconic Vivisect and their fans have much to look forward to with recently signing to Inherited Suffering Records.

Next up is probably one of the most unique, entertaining, energetic and mindblowing bands on Melbourne’s scene is Lazerface! Words can’t fully describe this band, they must be witnessed for you to understand!

This is the first year that AUSGRIND will be showcasing some interstate bands! Meticulous Despoilment will be coming up from Van Diemen’s Land, and are bringing their brutal mix of grind and tasty tasty slams with them!

Melbourne’s A Million Dead Birds Laughing are a unique act, forging a love of grind, with all things music, and creating unique, atmospheric compositions. AMDBL are not a band for the narrow minded.

After gracing Europe with their presence, NowyourefuckeD are also making their way from Hobart, TAS for AUSGRIND 2011! NowyourefuckeD are bound to deliver an intense performance and add some old-school grind into the mix!

Odiusembowel blasted their way to our shores in 2007 and since then have conquered the Australian metal scene and gained all loyal-as-fuck following! Closing up the night, Odiuesmbowel will be sure to send AUSGRIND 2011 off with a BLAST!

To be held at Melbourne’s iconic venue, Pony, on Saturday September 24^th 2011, this one’s for lovers of all things heavy, fast, loud, short and slammin’!
