News : Soundwave Revolution updates and mini-festival news
Soundwave Festival organiser AJ has taken to Twitter, finally, to clear up what is happening post-Soundwave Revolution cancellation, with some rather exciting pieces of news. For those of you without Twitter, here are the details:
– Tickets will be fully refunded, including all fees and taxes, sometime over the next two weeks.
– Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne will get mini-festivals held with some of the rock, punk, etc bands, while all heavier metal/hardcore bands that are still coming will do separate shows. The mini festivals will cost around $97. They will be all-day events with two stages and no clashes, with approximately 15 bands. Bands likely to play on the festivals include The Used, Four Year Strong and Panic at the Disco.
– The Melbourne mini-fest will probably be at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
– The mini-fest dates will likely be on the same dates as Revolution, however The Adelaide mini-fest has been moved to the Sunday to prevent a clash with the Grand Final.
– There will still be approximately 30 bands coming out.
– Whitechapel are still coming out, most likely as a double headliner with Watain.
– Devin Townsend is playing Soundwave 2012 instead.
– Soundwave are working on getting Alter Bridge their own headline shows.
– Steel Panther haven’t decided whether to still come or not.
– Sum 41 are most likely doing their own headline tour later in the year.
– Alice Cooper will be playing his own shows in most cities.
