News : Orpheus 'Bleed The Way' album launch
Press release:
“Since their inception more than 18 years ago DREADNAUGHT have established themselves as a cornerstone for Australian heavy rock audiences. Never touted as the ‘next big thing’ or ‘flavour of the month’, but as sub-genres and bands come and go, Dreadnaught never fail to provide their loyal fans, both old and new, with diverse offerings that are rooted in the brand of Australian rock and metal that the band have become an historic part of. May 2009 saw the release of their self-titled LP CD that showed a transition from the more rock-orientated releases of previous years to a crossover thrash-metal style more representative of the bands early releases. 2011 will see Dreadnaught starting to write for their next album and we are thrilled to have them headlining this event on February 18.
In just a few short years, ORPHEUS have quickly established themselves as a rising star of the Australian metal scene. After releasing their E.P, ‘So It Begins’ in 2009, their unique take on the Melodic Death Metal genre and immersive live shows have seen the band gain much momentum, with their music spreading across our shores and beyond. Now, Orpheus is ready to release their long awaited debut album, ‘Bleed The Way’ through Rock Star Records. The band has taken over two years to write and perfect their sound and create an album that will please any fan of heavy riff laden and keyboard driven death metal. Mixed by Ermin Hamidovic at Systematic Productions and Mastered by Plec at Sweden’s Panic Room Mastering, featuring guest musicians such as, Vile Viljanen of Mors Principium Est (Finland), Steve Janevski and Hanny Mohammed of Black Majesty (Australia) and more, this album is ready to put Orpheus center stage in the world metal scene. For fans of Heavy Melodic Death metal with wide influences including bands such as Dark Tranquillity, At The Gates, Arch Enemy, Mors Principium Est, Amon Amarth, Children Of Bodom, Hypocrisy and more.
Joining Dreadnaught & Orpheus on the night will be the amazing AEON OF HORUS from Canberra, returning to Melbourne after their incredible recent performance at Sonic Forge Festival, and the mighty OKERA.”
