News : The end of Leicohtica

By on September 18, 2010

NSW gothic/death metal band Leicohtica have announced that the band has come to an end. Without any pointless introduction, here is what the band had to say:

“Hi Everyone,

It is with great sadness that we want to mark the end of an era in our music making lives. It has come to the attention of all members that ‘Leicohtica’ as a musical idea is no longer a feasable and viable concept. Considering that many of the original members of the group have moved on, left us for better or worse, and that the current members of the band have greatly varying ideas and concepts for musical direction, the group Leicohtica as a concept has run it’s course.

We want to thank all members past and present for their invaluable contributions, which for some of us has been the better part of 7 years of our lives. We want to thank all of the fans who came to our shows, all our friends who supported us, our families and to everyone who generally showed interest, particularly promotors and websites.

So where too now?

Scott Bromley will continue within the music industry playing with ‘Odd Socks‘ which they describe themselves as; “Joining forces over a year ago to create awesomeness through tunes, The Odd Socks are the most rockin’ acoustic rock trio this side of the globe.” Obviously all current members of Leicohtica want to wish Scott the best with this endevour and we will of course revel in the opportunity to see him perform live with the group. You can get information on ‘Odd Socks’ at the following link; “http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=100001146663078&v=info&ref=ts“. Scott will of course continue to support everyone elses projects where possible.

Christopher Orchard is working with Australian death metal outfit ‘The Automata‘. Many of you are already familiar with this band as the concept has been in the wors for quite some time. It features other ex-Leicohtica members Damian Moloney andTom Banks, with Sobrusions Brodie Simons and Nemesphyxias’ Alex Ziebell. You can review the music at; http://www.the-automata.com/ and the music is available to purchase off itunes. Chris is also currently playing bass for ‘The Metatron’.Chris will also continue his work with Anti-Human Records in digital distribution of Underground Australian music. You can view the AHR website at http://www.antihumanrecords.com/

Tristan Tait is continuing to write music with ex-Leicohtica members John Murphy,Damian Moloney and Tom Banks and are searching for a vocalist and will announce the name of their group shortly. So watch for it, they will definitely make a fantastic new band with plenty of fresh ideas.

All of us look forward to playing shows together in our seperate groups in the future, and the split is amicable and without any hostility what-so-ever. We hope to see you out on the live scene again very soon coming to watch each of these exciting new projects.

Kindest Regards,- Leicohtica”
