News : Paul Gray (aka The Pig) 1972 – 2010

The heavy metal world mourns the loss of another metal icon this week. Paul Gray, bassist and one of the original founding members of Slipknot passes away at age 38.

Gray was found dead in an Iowa hotel room on the morning of Monday May 24th, according to local Iowa newspaper The Des Moines Register. The newspaper reported that there was no evidence of foul play but an investigation into Paul’s death will be conducted by police this week.  Paul and his wife Brenna were expecting their first child, due in September.

Both Slipknot and their record label Roadrunner Records have yet to release press statements about the death.

All of us at Metal Obsession would like to send our condolences to Paul’s wife Brenna and the Slipknot family.
