News : Vanishing Point: 8 songs into new album
Melbourne prog/power metallers Vanishing Point have posted a short blog updating everyone on what the band are up to. In short: they are currently writing album number 5, with 8 pre-production songs currently done. Where it will be recorded, who will produce it, album artwork, and a title are all still a mystery to everyone, including the band.
Other than that, drummer Christian Nativo has signed deals with Remo and Vic Firth drumsticks. And on the topic of sponsorships, all three guitarists (well, one is a bassist, but regardless…) are featured on the artists page of the 2010 Ibanez catalogue, with their new guitars that they will be recording with. So keep an eye out for that.
Late-ish last year, guitarist Chris Porcianko commented on the sound of their new material:
“I just thought to jump on and say that so far our new songs are sounding really cool and although I am not one to compare the new songs to our older stuff , I can say that so far they are melodic, a little more progressive and in some parts heavy as well.
Hopefully we will be getting into the studio in the first part of next year and I’m sure that the new album wont take long to record.
Christian , Jake and Adrian are definately putting a cool new feel to the new songs and they sound fresh and exciting , actually we are kinda bored with playing our old songs , so we cant wait to get them out there, I’m itching to play the new songs.”
