News : Switch Nightclub prepares for final show ever
Melbourne: Inertia Entertainment general manager Will Borland has announced that this week’s Switch Nightclub event will be the final ever for the monthly Melbourne metal night.
Borland commented:
“As a close friend of mine said to me recently, “Switch is turning into John Farnham who did an album called ‘The last time’ then a tour called ‘The last time’ but has started doing shows again”. Well I can guarantee you now that there will be no more monthly Switch at Caseys. We might do Switch reunions and maybe Switch Festivals, but definitely no more monthly or weekly Switch.
So all of you that are saying “how many times do i have to hear about the last Switch”, I can promise you that this will be the last. The other times we have had to close Switch down, was because of issues that had given us no choice, and we tried every way possible to make sure could bring it back to you. This time it is purely a choice of the Inertia Team letting it go.
Why? Well the Inertia Team has got other plans for the future, doesn’t mean we will be disbanding the company, but it means we will be concentrating on our individual projects. But Inertia will still be bringing more events for you in the future.
So what now? I know some are worried that there is no club that will be pushing metal and live metal bands anymore. But i am sure someone will think of something, and I am always here to help assist anyone that wants to support the live music scene.
I hope to see all of you at Switch on Dec 4, to give Switch its last serenade!“
