News : Toehider release EP#6, "Metaltarsus"
Melbourne-based Michael Mills has just released EP #6 of 12 under his project name, Toehider. “Metaltarsus” is a straight-up traditional metal album influences by the bands that got him through his teenage years. A blog detailing his early love of music is available on his website at http://toehider.com/12in12/
For those that missed the original news:
From May 2009 to April 2010, independent Australian rock musician Michael Mills’ Toehider project will release one 6-song digital EP per month for 12 months. Each release will be accompanied by a two-page comic illustrated by Brisbane artist Andrew ‘Salty’ Saltmarsh. The EPs will be streamed in their entirety on the Toehider website for free, and made available as paid, high-quality digital downloads with included artwork.
Each EP is based around a different musical style.
“Children of the Sun” was a series of cartoon theme song covers.
“Not Much of a Man” was on the folk/country side of things.
“Old, Old, Old” was Deep Purple-esque classic rock.
“Toehider Too!” was progressive rock, in a similar title to the “Toehider” EP that was released prior to the 12 month project.
“How Did Counterquistle Lose His Pyjamas” is a musical story with a Wonka-eque story and classical music.
and now “Metaltarsus” is straight up metal.
