News : Hobart's Tyrant record new album, release 2 studio demos

By on October 6, 2009

Australian metal act, Tyrant have almost completed recording of their latest CD, which is to be titled, “Save The Devil” at Izaneer Studios in Tasmania.

The new CD is produced by Brett Collidge (Roadkill, 17 Hertz, Solar Thorn) – and will be 5 track ‘EP’ containing the following songs: On The Road To Hell, Fire In The Sky, Devil Woman, Defenders Of The Faith and Running From The Law. The CD will now be released in March 2010.

The last 2 tunes, are currently in ‘demo version’ on the bands’ my space page. The “Save The Devil” CD will also celebrate 25 years from the Tyrant’s debut recording released way back in 1984 titled, “Never Too Loud”.

The new songs contain that typical Tyrant crunch, albeit with a far more modern and heavier sound – similar in style to the bands’ last studio CD, “Thunder Down Under” – released in 2003.  Vocalist, Neil Steel (who also fronts hard rockers Roadkill) has now almost fully recovered from his ‘head on’ car crash in Aug. 2008 with Tyrant recently re-commencing the recording process.
