News : Dead Letter Opener join Obsidian Records + album details

By on September 17, 2009

Since their live debut in January 10 in 2007, Dead Letter Opener have been assaulting Brisbane crowds with their insanely tight delivery of progressive metal unlike much you’ll hear anywhere else. The 2007 EP “Certified Nerdcore” giving a mere taste of what was to come, Obsidian Records is proud to add Dead Letter Opener to the list of quality Australian metal bands that we can catapult to the metal hordes. Recently supporting Cradle of Filth to a packed house in Brisbane and last year helping US’s Dillinger Escape Plan destroy the stage, Dead Letter Opener have shown they can share the stage with the worlds best and still shine through as a highlight.

With news of this union, we’re also pleased to announce that DLO‘s debut full length album “Lumen” will be unleashed in late 2009. Featuring 11 tracks of the bands eclectic styling’s, it was tracked in Brisbane at Jungle Library Studios 3.0, mixed with the help of Aidan Barton of Pathogen at Sovereign Studios in Perth and mastered by Jochem Jacobs of Textures at Split Second Sound in Amsterdam. A preview track “Yours and What’s Mine” is now available on the myspace for perusal along with an accompanying film clip. A sampler for Lumen is now on the bands myspace for a taste of whats in store for you!

Track listing is as follows:

1.   Light of Day
2.   Till Death Arrives
3.   Small Furry Animals
4.   Brutal Vengeance
5.   Anger Management
6.   Reflect
7.   Refract
