News : New Lord song, "Someone Else's Dream" online

By on July 11, 2009

Sydney-based heavy metal band Lord have uploaded the final teaser track before the release of their upcoming full length album ‘Set in Stone’. “Someone Else’s Dream” is unlike anything heard from the band before and is testament to the amount of variety that will be on the album. It’s the last full song to be uploaded before the album is released.

Lord Tim (guitars/vocals) posted the following little piece of trivia about the song on the band’s official forum:

“The keyboard part was actually written (and played) by TY, but it was originally an idea for a guitar part. TY sent it over to me and that made me go “hmm, I wonder if..” and I changed it to a synth sound and put the rhythm guitars behind it.

If you check out my ESP Endorsement video, one of the songs I played along to was this one, and the original harmony guitar part in the middle was based on what I played until Mark came along with his new bit which was so good we even voted to give him writing credits on the song for it (usually a solo doesn’t count towards writing credits, but this was such a strong idea it deserved it).

Listen to the song on headphones when you finally get the album – there’s HEAPS of parts that you can’t hear on MySpace… VERY complex mix!”
