News : Empyrean tour update – Sydney show added
Queensland Black Metal band Empyrean have confirmed a Sydney gig as part of their MetalObsession.net sponsored Australia tour, set to take place on Friday 10th of July. The lineup will be headlined by Sydney’s Bane of Isildur and also feature Aeon of Horus (ACT) and Alice Through The Windshield Glass.
Press Release:
Like a thundering storm from the south BANE OF ISILDUR bring their brand of ‘triumphant war metal’ howling out of the cold to The Bald Faced Stag this July 10. Heavily inspired by Nordic mythology, yet still undoubtedly Australian, Bane Of Isildur successfully merge the old aspects of black metal with the newer elements of war metal including elements of melody and technicality.
Joining them on the night and bringing with them their amazing brand of progressive death metal are AEON OF HORUS from Canberra, fresh from touring across the country playing with the likes of Satyricon, Alarum, Ne Obliviscaris and more in support of their debut album ‘The Embodiment of Darkness and light’.
EMPYREAN (QLD) return to Sydney as part of their ‘Quietus’ Australian tour (out now through Prime Cuts/Riot). Having been proclaimed the #2 Australian metal album of 2008 by readers of metalobsession.net, the release of ‘Quietus’ has seen Empyrean gain a dedicated following Australia wide as well as coveted support slots for such legendary acts as Morbid Angel and Satyricon in recent months.
Opening up the night is the exciting deathcore band ALICE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD GLASS, ruthlessly fusing tech-death metal and hardcore, creating a menacing brand of modern death metal.
