By on April 19, 2009

Century Media, one of the largest independent Hard Rock and Metal labels worldwide has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with EMI Music in Australasia.

Century Media’s Australian Label and Marketing Manager Andrew Haug, who joined the CM family in 1998 said that, “It’s a great honour to be onboard with such a long standing company icon that is EMI in the forever changing music biz. These are exciting times and I look forward the next phase with EMI as we shift in to giving our beloved heavy music fans the music they love and deserve in many forms“.

EMI has successfully distributed Century Media in the United States since 1997 and since 2005 in Europe. This new territory agreement will further broaden EMI distribution of Century Media repertoire and fill in an important territory in a global distribution partnership.

Century Media was founded in 1989 by Robert Kampf, and has since grown into one of the biggest international Rock and Metal labels in the industry. The company operates out of Los Angeles, London and Dortmund, Germany and has further operations in various other key territories.

Oliver Withöft, managing director of Century Media, said: “EMI embraces the international Hard Rock and Metal market with a committed and dynamic team. It has a strong local market presence that will help us to build the success of our artists in Australia. We are excited to have closed an important territorial gap for our repertoire.
