News : Fearscape post band update

By on January 9, 2009

NSW Progressive black metal band Fearscape have posted a rare update concerning plans for the band and band member movements. Fearscape’s last release was the 2007 full length album titled ‘Scent of Divine Blood’ and a review of this release can be viewed on Metal Obsession by visiting www.metalobsession.net/fearscape-scent-of-divine-blood.

“It has been a while since Fearscape have posted any news apart from some very cool reviews of ‘Scent of divine Blood’ we posted recently. So an update on the band’s happenings is in order.

As you may or may not be aware, Fearscape felt led to have 2008 ‘off’ and can I say, it was certainly a ‘God decision’. During 2008, Pete (guitars) moved to Melbourne and is in partnership with Andrew Tompkins (Paramaecium/Inexordium) in a web based business. He is currently playing rythmn for InExordium ( www.myspace.com/inexordium), brutal death/thrash-and yes, writing Fearscape material.

Phil (bass) has gone through some amazing changes. Having been medically verified as being ‘free’ of some debilitating medical conditions. Phil has started a new job, gotten married to Clare and living an amazing life free of medical issues that greatly affected his life. God is still the great healer and when science verifies it, you can’t get a better testimony than that! Phil has been sharpening his skills ( which we all know are phenomenal, how much better can he be?), and we are looking forward to seeing him at his full potential ( I’m scared).

Paul (drums) married Mel early in 2008, and recently ( a few days ago if memory serves me correct) has now become a dad, congratulations to Paul and Mel. Due to his family/work schedule, Paul has decided to put the drum sticks down. We thank him for his fantastic contribution-hear it on ‘Scent of Divine Blood’.

I have had a third addition to the family-a son Judah who is now 6 months old. I recently finished my third university degree while teaching which was rather stressful-but finished at last. In addition, Allan of DEI ELITHAEON ( www.myspace.com/deielithaeon) has invited me to be the vocalist/lyricist for this very cool, brutal and technical deathmetal band-stay tuned for more on DE as a 2009 release is not far away.

Now, what of Fearscape 2009?. Well, we have spoken and have decided to re enter the live arena ( though only playing select gigs as hard road touring in Australia is almost pointless). We will be taking submissions for drumming duties, though a few names have been put on the table. Also, we are writing new material, at present an ep may potentially be in the works, loosly titles ‘NIGHTMARE PSALMS’. There will be other exciting announcements along the way as well which will be revealed as they are confirmed.

Let the 2009 onslaught begin!”
