News : Lord announce new EP

By on October 11, 2008

Australian heavy-metal band LORD have announced they will soon release a five-track EP titled “Hear No Evil”. The following is the announcement, posted on the bands official forum:

“Hey guys!

As you probably already know, LORD has been busy recording our follow up album to 2007’s ‘Ascendence’ entitled ‘Set In Stone’. A while ago, we even featured a demo of the title track as a LORD Street Team exclusive goodie. (Not a member of the street team? Sign up here: http://www.myspace.com/lordofficialstreetteam )

Well, ‘Set In Stone’ is coming along nicely, but due to a lot of really cool and exciting things going on behind the scenes (that can’t be revealed yet, sorry!) that are taking some time to finalise, the album will be delayed until the first part of 2009.

It’s not all bad news, though. As a treat for everyone who is patiently waiting for the next album, we’ve decided to release an EP with brand-new unreleased material!

The EP will be called ‘Hear No Evil’ and this is the cover art:

Before anyone comments on it, this wasn’t the original proposed artwork – the cover artist let us down at the last minute and we had to whip something up very quickly to get the pressing underway in time. The interior art is somewhat better, and thankfully the Set In Stone album cover has already been done and it looks fantastic, so all is good for when it comes out next year.

The track listing is as follows:

1. Hear No Evil
2. Set in Stone
3. *SURPRISE MYSTERY COVER*
4. Through The Fire (LIVE)
5. Going Down (LIVE)

Track 2 will be appearing on the forthcoming album of the same name, and we can’t tell you what the surprise mystery cover is, other than it’s something you’ll never expect and it’s something you’ll really enjoy after you get over the initial shock – it’s all good fun regardless!

The live tracks were recorded at the Nightwish support earlier this year (did you guys notice the extra gear on stage? ).

This EP will be available in the LORD Online Store in about 3 weeks, and of course at shows, and for the first time, also be available as a paid digital download (iTunes, etc.), and Ringtones and all of that good stuff.

If you are a member of the Street Team, you could listen to the title track of the EP, but as I mentioned in another thread.

We were really hoping to have this ready for the Adelaide show, but the hoops you have to jump through for copyright clearance these days is insane. We’ll have them for the Oct.31 Sydney show, I’d say.

There is some REALLY exciting news regarding “Set In Stone”, though, which is one of the reasons we’ve held it back, but hopefully this EP will keep you guys happy until then.”
