Album Reviews : Siren's Gate – Haunt Me EP
Siren’s Gate hail from Melbourne, Australia and boast a similar sound to that of Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, but showcase their own unique diversity into the mix by bringing a fresh new look and sound to this already cliché motif with the sounds of their lead singer Alicia. A beautiful, yet powerful singer who draws her own inspiration from the metal world to bring a vibrant new sound to the legion of female vocals already in the local scene at the moment.
The EP contains 5 tracks which showcases the bands musicianship and diversity and gives the listener a glimpse of what this band could achieve with the right producer and sound. The majority of songs are very fast and heavy, but still keeps a melodic feel to them which suites the band well, with its dominate female vocals.
As this is only an EP, it will only tantalize the listener to further investigate the band and fully discover their sound and style. As mentioned before, with the right producer and sound these guys could achieve great things.
If your a fan of melodic rock with elements of metal all infused with classic female metal vocals, then this band is a must to check out in the local Melbourne metal scene.
