Live Reviews : Iron Maiden (Melbourne) – 06/02/2008
It had been 16 years since Iron Maiden last stepped on Australian soil. For some, this would be there first iron maiden concert, to others a 16 year wait was about to be broken.
Inside Rod Laver Arena, Steve Harris daughter Lauren Harris opened up and got the crowd amped up.
One of my favorite Aussie bands opened up next Vanishing Point, playing a lot of stuff from their new album which was great with such awesome songs as “Embodiment” and “Surrender”, the crowd got behind Vanishing Point even those who had not heard of them which is great for Aussie Metal.
The time had come, the chants of anticipation had filled the arena, the stage went dark and the curtain fell.
Out came Iron Maiden and the crowd erupted like no other.
The atmosphere was electric, the pyros, the lighting and the presence of Iron Maiden just blew everyone away.
There was not one person sitting down everyone was out of there seat for the entire concert.
When Eddie came out on stage the crowd erupted, everyone was hoping that he would come out and he sure did not disappoint.
